for our project we had to find an artist from sony music who was britisha nd make an interactive music video . we chose calvin harris, the song we chose was outside with ellie goulding as this had the most lyrics and the video was fairly easy to follow. the people in my group were reece auston, william millar and dainah brown.we all assigned roles, the roles were myself as camera and lighting , dainah as the asistant director, reece as the director and will as the producer. during pre production we all contirbuted equally 5to certain tasks and split the work between us making use efficient as a group. we started off by rearching who our artist was and we made a moodboard on linoit. we then made our idea, the idea we had was a girl and a boy had an arguement and different choices throughout the music video would make the final outcome.once we had come up with a final idea we had to mind map it and make a final mind map with the strands and outcomes on it. this was done using linoit.

 

once we had finished all the pre production and shot types, we started filming. we didnt use actors from drama as from previous experience they have come out as unreliable and hard to work with . with this issue we decided to use people from our own group as the actors and members of the class were extras as they were filming in the same area. dainah and i were assigned as the boy and the girl. this was a challenge as neither of us had acted before and we had to improvise. during the filming we experimented with different shots and different methods of filming , for example on ee of the scenens is filmed using a segway. during some of the scenes we found it hard to take the situation seriously and there are a lot of outtakes. but some shots were  suitable once they were edited. the directing was very good and so were the ther members of our class who helped us out. we all took turns using the equipment and all tryed to film a variety of shots. even if they were not up to standard we at least knew what worked and what didnt.

 

when it came to editing we split up the strands between us. myself and reece focused on the boy and girl strands and dainah and will did the endings and chocies. however there were issues with the group all being together at once, as will was ill for a majority of the editing process and dainah went to south africa meaning we had to edit her strands again. this is an issue on our part as we didnt have all the footage on one hard drive.  this was a major setback but we managed to fix the issues. there were problems with uploading to interlude and we had to be given an extension as the project was inhibited by the small problems with our editing and not being able to use interlude. there was a lesson on how to use interlude but we couldnt attend it as we had to edit the rest of our footage as this was the day after dainah went.we managed to sort out a lot of our issues by helping each other and with asistance from the technicians and teachers.

 

as a whole i think myself and my group have learnt a lot about new software and more editing techniques. we all contributed but some contributed more than others.for future projects i think i should learn how to use the gain on a camera as we did but i didnt understand it.
