sound lesson analysis

on friday we were tasked to use the sound equipment to practice for our audio books.we were put into small groups. we were given a shotgun microphone and a zoom h4n. we were given a list of sounds to make , the first one we did was a canteen but we did us playing basketball as the acoustics were better in there giving more of an echo. the othr sounds we had to make we a mouse's footsteps, a monster's footsteps, a snake in the grass and someone talking into the microphone with no backing noise.

my group consisted of myself, ryan ganileo , elllouise marney, evie gallagher and zhane alcide. we all took turns using the equipment and all helped make the sounds each of us having creative input. the lesson didnt really teahc us all the in depth details of how to use a zoom but we got it eventually.finding places to make the sounds was hard as many of the studios and quiet rooms were full and so we had to use outside with background noise.

the final sounds sounded better than we thought they would. the background noise wasnt an issue as we held the shotgun microphone to the sound we were making and it recording where you point it.

when we came back we had to put the sounds onto sound cloud i had issues with mine and so they would not upload. the things i think i could have done beter were to get more involved and help make the sounds rather than suggesting ideas. my target for next lesson is to take more notes so then the content is in my head so if i dont do the evaluation on the day then i can do it another time with the notes which i need.
